Hi Saint, please tell us a little about yourself.
I was born in Austin, Texas, moved to LA with a suitcase and a dream to become a singer, got signed to Universal during COVID, had an opportunity to try acting and I loved it.
Describe yourself in three words.
Chameleon, dedicated and loyal.
How did you get started in acting?
First of all, I’ve always loved movies and TV all my life, but I originally got started in acting during COVID. I got asked by a producer if I knew how to act. I said yes, they said they would love for me to play the role of Rose, the secretary. I took the opportunity. I got an acting coach for this role, and I loved it. It was just another way for me to express myself.
How has this changed your life?
It’s made me more aware of who I truly am, and who I am becoming.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
The best part of being an actress is that I get to express myself in many different ways that I never thought I could. I thought music would be my only escape, but I’m very fortunate to find that acting is a part of me.
The worst part about being an actress is the rejection. You audition so many times that you never hear back and you’ve got to keep your faith and keep going because if that’s what you love doing, you’ll never stop.
How do you prepare for a role?
How do I prepare for a role is, lots of alone time, a voice recorder, a notepad, and it depends on the character. I usually make a playlist.
Tell us about your work in Amazon Prime “Deadly Western.”
I loved working on deadly western. I got to play Jane Deemers, a gun-slinging cowgirl who wanted redemption for killing her sister. As we all took safety precautions, it was exciting to learn about the prop guns on set.
How was the casting for this project?
Lots of auditioning and back-and-forth with the director about the direction that he was going. Since I was from Texas, he felt I could achieve what he wanted.
And about your work on thriller sci-fi movies “Panic,” “Wicked Game,” “Another Way to Die,” and “Alien Storm?”
I loved working on panic. I got to be on a spaceship, and that was a lot of fun. Another way to die, I got to be a Russian assassin. Juliet was such a badass. Alien Storm is coming out next year. I played Annie, the waitress who gets in a lot of trouble with aliens. I’m super excited about the fact that Kevin Sorbo from Hercules was in it, as was Tom Arnold.
What other projects have you been part of?
I was in a pirate movie called cursed waters, where I played a sexy siren that temps the pirates and I can’t say that much because it’s coming out next year ???? That was a lot of fun wearing the prosthetics and the crazy make-up because I did not look like myself.
How do you prepare for a challenging role, especially when it requires you to step far outside of your own experiences or personality?
I prepare by doing lots of research, and also digging down deep into my own emotions and experiences that I’ve been through, and I create the character based on my reality but in their world.
Of all the characters you’ve portrayed, which one do you feel closest to or most proud of, and why?
I really enjoyed shooting and working on WICKED GAME. I became best friends with the supporting actress, and it was such a fun time and I love scary movies. Mila was so misunderstood and sometimes I feel the same.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play, and why?
My dream role to play is DC’s Cat Woman. I’ve always loved her character; she’s sexy, sassy, sensual, dangerous, and a mysterious temptress. And also, any role that involves singing is like a musical movie.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding thing is just doing what I love, seeing the final product done, being proud, and also inspiring others.
What advice would you give to aspiring actors who look up to you and want to follow in your footsteps?
My best advice to aspiring actors is to find yourself a really good class and learn the basics of acting, then find your unique qualities and your quirks that make you stand out as an actor.
Now about music. Describe your sound in three words.
Urban, pop, tribal.
Who influenced you, and why did you choose to make music?
My family always encouraged me to sing and perform and I joined the choir at a very young age from then on. I knew it was exactly what I wanted. I’ve always had the ability to perform, and I just love it so much, whether it’s music or performing a role. It’s all a dream come true.
Do you play any instruments?
When I was young, I was very fortunate to learn how to play the Oregon with my grandma. I don’t play it regularly, but it’s a fond memory.
Do you ever get nervous?
I get nervous, especially right before set but as long as you’re prepared, you know your character, you just zone in and the nerves will fade.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you have learned so far in this business?
When you’re starting out acting, take on every role you can so you can learn about being on set, no matter if it’s free or if it’s paid. Just do it. Because the best way to learn is being onset.
Which place that you have visited do you think changed you in a particular way, maybe for motivation or to see a different reality, etc.?
Well, I think moving here to Los Angeles from Austin, Texas, was a life-changing experience and my biggest motivation.
And which countries or cities are still on your bucket list?
I would love to go to Europe, and I would love to go to Australia.
How would your best friend describe you?
My best friend would describe me as unique and loyal. And a go-getter.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
I think a great book to read is Atomic Habits.
What’s next for Saint Heart in 2024?
What’s next for me is I got booked for a few roles already this year in a TV show as the lead working on a western at the end of this month in March. Lots of auditioning, lots of networking. And getting back in the studio and writing a new album.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness to me means pursuing your dreams and making others inspired.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would absolutely love to meet Margot Robbie. She’s my favorite actress right now. She’s such a phenomenal person. She seems like she would be excited to be around, not to mention that I could learn so much from her.
Best advice ever given?
You have got to keep going, believe in yourself, and never give up. My grandma gave me that advice.
Do you support any charities?
I am a huge supporter of the Children’s Hospital before COVID. I would go into the rooms, and I would sing to the children.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years?
I see myself working on major movies and music and gaining respect from the professionals, and the legends that I look up to.
Favorite song? Why? My favorite.
Always be my baby, Mariah Carey. Who doesn’t love Mariah! Every time you hear it, it just makes you feel something.
What do you think of social media?
I think social media is great when you’re trying to brand yourself and show your unique qualities and talents to the world.
