Check out our interview with talented artist Elle L, who just released her future-pop track “Sign.”
“Sign” is a seductive and emotional noir-dance anthem that showcases her ethereal vocals. It also marks Elle’s first move into self-production in collaboration with Magna LV and serves as a first glimpse into her forthcoming debut EP, “Constellations,” due for release in Q2 2024. Elle L’s music has already made waves on prominent platforms, including the BBC, CapitalXtra, Diplo’s Sirius XM, and CNN.
In addition to her musical endeavours, Elle L is set to grace screens with a commercial appearance for C4 x Loci this February. She uses her platforms to advocate for the United Nations and sustainable brands; she is a Kindness Champion for UNESCO MGIEP, an advisor to UNEP, and she raised £15k for grassroots conservation through the release of her follow-up “Hoping” in lockdown.

Hi Elle, please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a music artist, creative director and regenerative fashion advocate. I try to use my online platforms to advocate for sustainable brands and beyond my first love, music, I like to raise money for grassroots conservation.
Describe your sound in three words.
Electro, Noir-Dance, Future-Pop
Who influenced you, and why did you choose to make music?
I get parallels vocally to artists like Kate Bush and FKA Twigs as I have quite a delicate sound. Artists like Labrinth are an inspiration to me… I love big feels and gorgeous stacked harmonies. My parents are also very musical, so they are definitely another source of inspiration for me.
Do you play any instruments?
I play piano, cello, violin, flute and guitar – but only to a very basic level.
Do you ever get nervous?
Yes! I feel everything very deeply so experience ecstatic highs and intense lows. I try to balance my nerves through yoga and creating music. A little adrenaline from time to time is good for you but I avoid coffee as it sends me over the edge!
Tell us about your new single, “Sign?”
This song means a lot to me because it’s my first dive into self-production under alias Magna LV – a collaboration with Christian DP. It’s a dynamic track with cinematic bass and string lines and an ethereal anthem melody. We wanted to capture the essence of deep seduction through an alluring dance of shadow and light. It’s a beautiful feeling to add dimensions to my writing and top-lines by adding colour through the production.
What’s the story behind the song?
I’m inspired by emotions, romantic connections and am curiously existential about the interstellar. So this is really about that moment you are hoping for someone to make a move and looking to the stars above for a‘sign’.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The feeling of a new song coming from nowhere is the most natural high, letting a song go is also liberating, but if a song that’s come from your heart resonates with just one person, that means a lot to me.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
I just finished ‘Manifest’ by Roxie Nafousi. I believe in the art of manifesting and it’s a really great read that can be applied to business, art and life.
What advice would you give to your younger self, and why?
Do all things from a place of love and see all things around you grow. Don’t be scared. Believe you can do anything, and go for it. Why? Because I think we are more capable than we know and have to fearless in the pursuit of our dreams.
How would your best friend describe you?
Oh wow, I’d hope ‘kind and creative’.
If you were a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
DREAM
What’s next for Elle L in 2024?
A lot!! More music!!! 🙂 My debut EP will be out this Spring and I’m so excited to be creating.
What is your favourite healthy food?
Sushi
And your favourite cheat food?
Mac & Cheese
How would you explain your fashion style?
Vintage
What is your own definition of happiness?
The feeling of alignment when you trust your heart. Never conform to other people’s ideas of happiness.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Walt Disney. I want to know how it all started.
What would be your dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Somewhere tropical I’ve never been before with my boyfriend, Christian.
Best advice ever given?
The words from the poem ‘IF’ by Rudyard Kipling.
Do you support any charities?
Yes, I raise a lot of money for conservation. Specially Hoja Nueva a non-profit organisation in the Peruvian Amazon.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years?
I’d love to have established my music internationally, have some big collaborations out and started my sustainable fashion brand.
What is your favourite song to belt out in the car or for karaoke?
Haha, atm I actually like to do Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi.
What do you think of social media?
