Hi Eli, please tell us a little about you?
I’m 20 years old from Westchester, NY. I’ve been playing instruments pretty much my whole life, but started taking music seriously in High School. I taught myself how to sing/rap, produce, record, and engineer my music.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Melodic, lyrical, and versatile
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I’m influenced by a bunch of different artists. Chris Brown and Justin Bieber definitely influence the singing side of my sound. Lil Wayne and Dave East for lyrics, Drake for versatility and overall as an artist. I also get a lot of influence from Russ creatively because he does everything from production to recording himself.
Do you play any instrument?
Drums, Piano, and Guitar.
Tell us about your new single “Started?”
The story behind started essentially reflects my music career as a whole. Being counted out, laughed at, and not given the time of day in the beginning was a challenge that I pushed through, and “started” lets out a lot of that emotion. I use my past of playing basketball and constantly being benched in many lyrics throughout the song as a metaphor for the way my music career started. Phresher’s feature complemented the song perfectly as well and it was dope working with him on the video.
And about the success of “Too Gone?”
“Too Gone” was more of a vibe and catchy song that made it do well, especially on social media. There’s not as much personal emotion behind it but I still love the record.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Listening back to a finished song that I started from scratch.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
“The Power Of Now”
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
I learned to look at failure in a different perspective. Every time I fail or experience a setback I look at it as a way to grow. There’s a lot of trial and error when it comes to music. I also learned to be very present minded and enjoy the process, while also staying goal driven for the long term.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
I would say to enjoy the little things and stay present because time isn’t coming back.
How would your best friend describe you?
Passionate, Curious and Loyal
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Absurd.
What’s next for Eli Brady in the last months of 2022 and for 2023?
I’m going to continue to release music, and learn and grow as an artist.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Edamame
And your favorite cheat food?
Frozen French Fries…
How would you explain your fashion style?
Comfortable
What is your own definition of happiness?
Being content with the present moment
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Probably Drake
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Bali with my family
Best advice ever given?
Be Mindful and Grateful everyday
Do you support any charity?
Relay For Life, American Cancer Society
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Making a living off music and staying happy
Favorite song?
Let Me Love You – Mario
What do you think of Social Media?
I don’t think it’s good but it’s definitely necessary for my career.
