Check out our interview with talented singer and songwriter Maxx.
In 2018, I picked up a pen and began writing songs. These sessions became the therapy that I needed to help me rise to the next level in my healing journey. My first single “No Good At Love”, from my album titled “Daddy’s Issues”, is about how I never felt clean enough to love myself or others. I took many showers a day trying to wash off the feeling of being dirty brought on by guilt and shame. Through writing this title track, I was able to heal quickly. As I began to write more and more songs, I was able to navigate through the pain, hurt, and disorders.
With a heart full of gratitude, I am 20 years old and finally medication-free and thriving. August 2020, I showed up on my dad’s doorstep and told him that I forgive him, which gave me closure. Now, my heart is to help others heal through my music.

Hi Maxx, please tell us a little about you?
Hey I am Maxx! I am a 20-year-old singer, songwriter, and performer. I have a passion for music and using my experiences to help others!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Honest, brave, and determined.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
I got in the industry by working really hard and putting all of my focus into my career and my music! It’s my biggest dream and I’ve dedicated my whole life to making it come true and will stop at nothing until it happens!
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Unique, honest, and real.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
Taylor Swift is my biggest inspiration when it comes to work and music. I chose to make music to express myself, help myself through life and my struggles, and to help others get through their struggles.
Do you play any instrument?
I do! I’m not the best at any of them but I do play the guitar, piano, and the ukulele!
Do you ever get nervous?
I do get nervous but I try my best to not let my nerves get the best of me and affect me!
Tell us about your new single “Lover Boy?”
My new single Loverboy it’s probably one of my most poppy songs I have that I’ll be putting out! It’s a super fun girl power anthem!
What’s the story behind the song?
The story behind lover boy is I was seeing this guy who had the wrong intentions who pretended like he had the right intentions. He was the worst of the worst! He used me, lied to me, and wasn’t loyal at all! I finally got fed up and ended it and had to write about it!
Did you have plans/concerts planned and cancelled because of COVID? If so have you done any online concerts or interaction with your fans?
Yes! Right before Covid started I had just started performing at venues and clubs around LA and absolutely loved it! I had some shows canceled unfortunately. But yes I have done a couple performances and many podcasts and Instagram lives which I’m super grateful for!

The first thing that comes to mind for me or music videos! I have tons of ideas and visuals for all of my songs and I can’t wait to see them come to life! I’m also dying to start touring and performing everywhere!
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
Seeing the way that my experiences and my songs have affected my fans is so rewarding. Building relationships with them through my music has been such a magical experience! I’d say that’s probably one of the biggest rewards I’ve experienced so far. I honestly like everything about what I do but it can be overwhelming and stressful at times but that’s ok!

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
100% without a doubt Taylor Swift! She’s always been my biggest inspiration and actually is the reason I started my career.

How would you describe your fashion style
I would describe my style as original and unique and a huge expression of me!
What do you think of Social Media?
I honestly hate it! I think it’s really bad for our mind and mental health. Before I was pursuing this career I was off of Instagram for about a year and had a really hard time getting back into it. I now have rules for myself so that social media doesn’t affect me in a bad way. I can understand the benefits of it though and do enjoy being creative With what I post. I’m also really grateful for it because it gives me the ability to interact and connect with my fans.
