Hi Audrie, please tell us a little about you?
I grew up traveling with my mother because she was a teen mom and decided just to bring me where she wanted to go. I grew up by the oceans or the Bahamas and Hawaii and so I still feel most at home by the ocean Although I’m currently living in Oregon. I spend a lot of my time making music and when I’m not making music I’m outside exploring camping anything active.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Diverse, kind, relatable.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I’ve been singing ever since I can remember. I never had a day where I decided to sing I’ve just always done it and it’s always been a part of me. Growing up my mom said to me before bed. I do think that could be a big reason why I love to sing.
Do you play any instruments?
I’m currently learning guitar and I hope to get better because I think it’s a really beautiful instrument to have while singing and easy to bring places.
Do you ever get nervous?
I really love being on stage and I don’t get very nervous. Sometimes when I first get on stage, I’ll get nervous but then I’ll quickly snap out of it.
Tell us about your new single “Levi Jeans?”
This is the most real natural song I’ve released. Acoustic/no auto-tune song. After working on R&B for many years I feel like this brings me back to my natural childhood roots and I sing from the heart and not what’s currently trending.
What’s the story behind the song?
Levi Jeans is about finally meeting the right person and I added the simplicity of needing a man with a Levi Jeans but it really isn’t exactly about the jeans as the type of person who wore them. In my experience, it was a hard-working and kind man who pulled me out of the materialistic mindset I was in from living in LA.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Making others feel good through my voice and music.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
The Power of Now.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Don’t overthink too much and just release music because if I wait too long it never gets released.
How would your best friend describe you?
Always finding the good in every situation. Bright, fun, funny, caring, and loving.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
I feel like even though I’m young I’ve done so many different things and already had so many lives I couldn’t put it into one genre or storybook titles
What’s next for Audrie Powell in the last months of 2023?
Keep pushing my new country song and start filming my next country song music video for “willow tree”
What is your favorite healthy food?
Raw grass-fed cheese
And your favorite cheat food?
Gummy candy. Gummy bears, worms etc
How would you explain your fashion style?
Just like music, I love a lot of different fashion genres so it depends on my mood. Almost my whole closet is thrifted. I like to wear western-influenced clothes sometimes or street wear but sometimes girly stuff. I love streetwear.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Having a beautiful property with my family, and animals. Places to visit in nature and being able to consistently perform my own songs.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Justin Bieber because he was one of my biggest inspirations as a kid.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
I would go with my family and my boyfriend to Bali or Thailand.
Best advice ever given?
Always be yourself no matter where you are or who you are around.
Do you support any charity?
If I had extra money for a charity I would give it personally to a family in another country and fill their fridge or do something to help in person a family in need
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I want to be making a full living off music helping people feel good with my voice and performing in front of thousands of people often.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
Before He Cheats.
What do you think of Social Media?
I actually really hate social media but it’s needed for a musician’s career and promoting/making money from social media. I don’t like how much time I spend on it to edit/gain ideas for videos or just overthink.
