Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I listened to a lot of oldies at a young age due to my mom and dad playing them in the car. Especially 80s & 70s music like Billy Joel. I also was inspired by a lot of modern country artists as well, so the mix really seemed to help me a lot!
Do you play any instrument?
I do! I play the Guitar, Ukelele, Piano, and of course I sing! My favorite to play is the Ukulele and the Guitar though.
Do you ever get nervous?
Before a show, I can get nervous, but then I always think about why I am doing this and how it brings joy to others and joy to me. There is always going to be that one person who does not want to add your song to their playlist, and that is okay! I think we’ve all been in that boat with music, with how subjective it is.
Tell us about your new single “White Sneakers?”
White Sneakers is a song that I am most proud of. It has such a country-pop feel. It makes you feel like your sitting on a porch swing in-love with someone. I wrote it on the guitar! I loved seeing it come together.
What’s the story behind the song?
Well, I was sitting in my room, and my dog Taco happened to be chewing my “White Sneakers.” I was thinking how it was to be in-love in the summer. I wrote it during the winter so I was imagining the midsummer heat! My family said that I should record that song, and I gave my producer a big list of songs I wrote, and we decided on this one as a single song.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part of my work is when a person says that the song has impacted them and help them through life. Hearing that is the best feeling because I really want my songs to help people very much. I also love when the song is finished and hearing the transition from writing it on my bedroom floor to hearing the recorded version.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
I am no expert at books, but I think everyone should read “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.” It is guaranteed to make you cry, well it at least made me cry!
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
I would tell myself to start speaking up and not taking the words that bullies say to heart. I would also let myself know that the bullying in school will pass and it will only make me stronger in the future.
How would your best friend describe you?
I think my best friend would describe me as kind & creative! I am also good at research so whenever my friend and I are looking for a place to hangout, I can find a good place, such as a VR Arcade!
What is your favorite healthy food?
I love brussels sprouts and usually people cringe at me when they hear those words, haha!
And your favorite cheat food?
Riced Cauliflower is the best!
How would you explain your fashion style?
I would explain my fashion style as eclectic for sure!
What is your own definition of happiness?
My own definition of happiness is positivity and no matter what, not letting the hardships in life stop you from enjoying the good.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Elizabeth Montgomery, she was a very talented actress and I am obsessed wit watching the old television show called “Bewitched.”
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
A dream holiday would be going to the ocean where the water is so light blue, one can just see the fish in the ocean.
Best advice ever given?
The best advice I have given is that “You can do anything that you set your mind to.” My teacher told me that a while ago in my Junior year, and it has never left my head ever since.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I think I see myself writing, recording, and performing more original music. I hope to continue to experiment with my writing in music.
What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
I love singing Piano Man in the car, it is a classic for sure!
What do you think of Social Media?
I love posting on social media, I think that it is an amazing way to communicate with one’s music listeners!
