Check out our interview with talented alt-pop meets western pop singer/songwriter Sidney Bird who just released her new single and music video entitled “bitters.”
“bitters” is about her encounters with snobby young men in high society who act childish and chauvinistic. The accompanying music video was filmed in Palm Springs and is a cinematic visual narrating the comedic story of a housewife and her pool boy.
Sidney has over 5 million streams and has cultivated a fervent fanbase with her authentic crossover releases and also has recently opened for the likes of Natasha Bedingfield and Hans Williams.

Hi Sidney, please tell us a little about you?
Hi there! I am an independent singer-songwriter from Phoenix, AZ but currently living in Brooklyn, NY.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Energetic Cactus Pop
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
Hmm, growing up I loved true “pop” music, like Brittnay Spears and Jessica Simpson, but I was also really interested in more “singer-songwriter” type artists like Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles. I didn’t start making music till I was 22. I was extremely lost in my life, and in a bad depression. Writing songs on my guitar was the only thing that helped me get through the day, and then all of a sudden I started believing in myself and believing I could be an artist.
Tell us about your new single “bitters?”
It is a super fun, punchy, and indie tune! It’s about snobbery and narrow minded boys. I had a lot of fun with the music video and hope people love it.
Now tell us about opening for big names like Natasha Bedingfield and Hans Williams? That’s amazing!
It WAS AMAZING! My god, it was amazing. Those were the biggest shows I’ve played thus far. It’s amazing to play in front of people who have no idea who you are and gain new fans after a show.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Connecting with humans who really understand the “why” of a song.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
“Stop caring what other people think of you, they don’t care about anyone but themselves.”
How would your best friend describe you?
Social, funny, loyal, and goofy.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Sidney Bird: A girl way to obsessed with the movies, “Ratatouille” and “She’s the Man”
What’s next for Sidney Bird in 2023?
LOTS OF NEW MUSIC BABY!
What is your favorite healthy food?
I really like salad cause it’s so crunchy lol
And your favorite cheat food?
Sugar belts…..
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Tina Fey
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Safari in Africa with my fiance and best friends
Do you support any charity?
I do! I try to donate to planned parenthood, music and the brain, and release recovery foundation as much as I can.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Hopefully living in a house that has a small patch of grass with my fiance and dog. I’d love to be touring and writing my best music.
