Hi Sophia, please tell us a little about you?
A little bit about me, well I’ve been singing ever since I could talk. I love music so much it’s my true passion. I’m both Mexican and American and fluent in Spanish and English. My music is pop with a twist of R&B and soon to come some reggaeton. I’ve been mentored by some great people, one being Autumn Rowe Grammy winning songwriter and Bob Westbrook who is truly a legend and discovered Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Olivia holt and many more.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
I would say bubbly, loving, and hardworking.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
I’ve just been in love with music and this is kind of funny but honestly after watching Hannah Montana as a kid I was obsessed and watching that made me realize I want to do what she did. At the age of 7, I started taking lessons with bob Westbrook and he took me to a completion called ipop out in Los Angeles. I ended up winning first place and got over 40 call backs and one of them was Marc Williams, indasoul entertainment producer and cray Roberts, Sony producer with OnKey.
How has this changed your life?
It’s completely changed my life. Music in general has really given me a passion and has taught me so much about work ethic and how to truly be a hard worker from a young age.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Fresh, vibey, and upbeat.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I would say growing up sharing the Disney channel and listening to music from a young age just influenced me in itself. My parents have always been my number one supporters and when I told them this is what I wanted to do they helped support me in every way they could.
Do you play any instrument?
I’m not the best at any hahah, but I do play some guitar and piano.
Do you ever get nervous?
Oh, for sure who doesn’t get nervous before a release and also sometimes before a performance. I just never let the nerves truly get to me.
Tell us about your new single “Kiss and Tell?”
Kiss N Tell is one of my favorites. It was written by Autumn Rowe and Cray Roberts is the producer on it. Some truly smart creative minds with my input on both ends and we wanted to do something different and create a song that truly is one of a kind.
What’s the story behind the song?
I came into the studio and I’ve been working with Autumn and writing with her for over 5 years no, so I just came in and caught her up on some boy drama. I was telling her how I was talking to multiple guys and how all of them wanted to date and ask me to be their girlfriend, but I just wanted to have fun and have some crushes. I didn’t have the time to be serious about a relationship when I was so young. Autumn was like “omg that’s the song Sophia”, and we had so much fun with it.
How was working with 2022 Grammy-Award Winner Autumn Rowe?
I love working with Autumn. We’ve been working with each other for so long and she really is like my big sister. I learn so much from her and she inspires me and I’m sure many other women out there.
And about the success of your previous hits “Close to Me,” “I’m Good” and “Not That into You?”
They’ve been doing great and gaining a lot of streams on all platforms especially Spotify. I hit 100,000 streams on Spotify and around 100,000 views on YouTube. They’re all so special to me and I’m truly proud of them all.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
I would say all the kind words and messages I get from friends, family and the supporters. It’s honestly the best feeling and super rewarding when people tell me sweet things about them.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
I would say in the music industry the best book to read to learn about it would be “All you need to know about the music business” written by Donald S. Passman
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
Autumn once told me it’s very important to always be the smartest girl in the room in such a male dominated industry and to learn as much information as you can so you can know what you’re talking about in this industry, know your information and also be able to put your input in. Bob Westbrook taught me this saying “hard work is when opportunity meets preparation” that one has also really stuck with me.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
To not worry so much about what other people say when it’s negative and to just keep following your passion and music and prove them all wrong.
How would your best friend describe you?
I love my best friends so much. I have some true ones that I will always be there for. They would probably tell you that I’m really loving and trustworthy. super go with the flow and down for anything and love parties and a good time.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Probably Utopia. I say that because my life is super fun and filled with the craziest most fun moments. I’ve made some memories that will last a long time. Music is my utopia. My friends, family, relationships and travel all have been really special. Don’t get me wrong, I have my sad and stressful moments at times too but I look at every day as a blessing and am super grateful and happy.

More music to come and hopefully some more great milestones in my career.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Edamame is my favorite healthy food. It’s so fire.
And your favorite cheat food?
My favorite cheat food would have to be some McDonald’s fries with some ketchup haha.
How would you explain your fashion style?
Honestly my style is super basic. I love chilling in some sweats and oversized hoodies at home but when it comes to going out, I love a good outfit from a store like Revolve. I love a good crop top and also love almost everything from Revolve.
What is your own definition of happiness?
I would say friends, family and being with the ones you live with is what brings me true happiness. Also, the recording studio is truly my happy place.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would say Justin Bieber has always been my favorite and I feel like he could give me the best advice about this industry and tips on music and singing and how to keep god close. Love Justin so much!
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
My dream holiday (well I don’t know if this is answering the equation), but my favorite is Christmas or birthday and dream-like trip would be bora bora in many years to come. I’m so young, so in 10 years a honeymoon there would be so fun with my future husband, whoever he is.
Best advice ever given?
Never give up on your dreams and your passion and to surround yourself with positive people and ignore the negative people and their comments.
Do you support any charity?
I am a part of the thirst project which is an organization that raises money to build wells in Africa. I also love going to children’s hospitals when I can to hang out with the patients and have so much fun with them.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
My ultimate dream would be going on my own tour or opening up for a big artist and honestly just creating more music and growing my fan base.
Favorite song? Why?
That’s the hardest question, it’s always changing. Right now, it’s probably Positions by Ariana Grande. I love that sound so much. It reminds me of last year and all the fun I had. It was released at a really fun time for me.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think it’s a great way to keep up with everybody and really connect with my supporters, so for that reason I really love it. I don’t like everything about it but it’s fun at times for sure.
