Check out our interview with talented Swedish singer and songwriter Nova Miller who just release her new hit single “Girls Like Us.”
Nova is like an over the top teenage Swedish Lady Gaga meets Dolly Parton with vocals like Mariah. She’s unapologetically herself and has an obsession with 70’s style. The combination of all this makes clear that Nova has carved her own niche – incomparable to other artists out there, defined only by her personal, eccentric stylings, which shines through on everything from her own releases to her viral TikToks as well as her saturated Instagram feed.

Hi Nova, please tell us a little about you?
Hey Naluda! I am Nova Miller, I was born in Sweden but I moved to LA last year. I am a big music nerd and I spend almost all my days doing scales, dreaming of a world tour, writing songs or talking to my fans online.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, caring, stubborn
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
No worries, I love telling this story cus its crazy to think back to when it all started. I met my manager Lolene in Sweden when I was 12 at my dance school, and I told her I could sing and play instruments too. She asked me to come to the studio, so I brought my guitar and played her some songs. We started writing and working together and we’ve been all the way up ever since.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
As cliche as It sounds I don’t feel like I chose to make music I feel like music chose me – I just knew it was my purpose from a really really young age. My parents influenced me a lot since they’re professional musicians and would always play music around the house. I became really obsessed with big vocalists like Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Ella Fitzgerald, Whitney and just felt how much I wanted to do that.
Do you play any instrument?
Yessssss I play guitar, piano, ukulele, some violin, some bass, and some recorder!! I really wanna learn drums, that’s my next goal!!
Tell us about your new single “Girls Like Us?”
Girls Like Us it the girl anthem we need right now. It’s such a fun, confident, energetic song that makes it impossible not to start bopping your head to it. I want every single one that listens to this song to feel like they’re in control, confident, beautiful, and that we’re in this together. You’re not waiting for anyone to call you; you decide how you wanna spend your time.
Did you have plans/concerts planned and cancelled because of COVID? If so have you done any online concerts or interaction with your fans?
I did have shows and tours that were being planned. I loooooooove playing live, I think it’s one of my favorite parts of this job so it’s been really hard to adjust and be without it. But I’ve been doing weekly lives and really gotten closer to my fans lately. We talk all the time on twitter and in my dms. I’ve even started doing virtual meet & greets so far and it was so much fun. Can’t wait to do another one – I love my novanation!!!
Now tell us about being a popular influencer and your TikTok success?
I started making tiktoks in my garage last summer when I moved to LA. I was singing so much in my apartment complex that I almost got evicted (for real) so I started filming in the garage instead and the videos just started blowing up. I’m so grateful for my TikTok family, I’ve hit 1,7 million in quarantine and made so many amazing friends from the app.
What’s next for Nova Miller in the last months of 2020?
I’m gonna release my EP The Passion in October!!! So expect a lot of music, videos and whistle tones.
Best advice ever given?
You have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. That really stuck with me. When you can do that, that’s when you can really start pushing yourself.
