In search of an alternative to drugs or medicine, Adi read books about colon health and the negative effects accumulated toxins can have on your body. Adi started blending her own high quality loose leaf tea until she created the perfect formulation to help solve her own digestive issues.

Where did you grow up?
Clearwater, Florida! I’m a total beach bum.
How did you get in the industry?
I suffered from digestive issues after my service in the military and was looking for a holistic solution to help improve my digestion…and that’s how I found tea!
Name one your strengths?
Perseverance through hard times. As a business owner I experience this so much…and even when things are going totally wrong, I still show up and power through it. Doesn’t mean it’s easy…but I know that commitment and perseverance are pillars of success.
How’s a typical day in your life?
Wake up at 6:30am, exercise for 45-60 minutes, make my morning smoothie and head to work! Once I’m at the office my day is full of production, design and marketing meetings! No two days are the same!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Overcoming obstacles and adversity in business and in my personal life. Continuously growing as an individual.
Any advice to other entrepreneurs?
Think about your business in a 10 year time span. Not today or next week or even next year. Think long term, plan and act that way.
Now tell us about your successful lifestyle brand Teami Blends?
It’s my baby! I started it 5 1⁄2 years ago from my bedroom and I love being able to help customers around the world with our tea based wellness and skincare products!

On our website teamiblends.com but our skincare is also found in Ulta Beauty stores where you can pick it up in stores!
What is different from Teami Blends to other brands?
Our dedication to quality of our wellness and beauty products is very strong. We make all of our wellness teas with the highest quality, hand-selected loose leaf tea which then gives our customers the best results. We focus on a holistic, 360 approach to health and provide our customers with plant-based solutions in every stage of their life.
What part of your job do you find the most challenging?
Managing a 60 person company has had its challenges, but I have also grown the most from that experience.
What did you learn from your biggest failure? (if any)
In 2017 I was having a really hard time…our numbers were down and I was having panic attacks. It took me 3-4 months until I was able to really push through everything that was going on, the anxiety, the pressure and the negative self-talk and then I was able to get over it and actually come up with a strategy to improve in the future! 2018 was our best year yet, growing 40%!
Are there busy and quiet periods during the year?
Yes, we usually see that Q1 + Q4 are the busiest, like most product e-commerce businesses.
What is next for Adi or Teami Blends in 2019?
We are launching a Skincare Beauty Fridge at the end of July that we are sooo excited about! This will be a luxurious way to store and chill your favorite skincare products! It will be on ultabeauty.com as well and I can’t wait to get everyone’s feedback!
What would say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
Coming to terms with the peaks and valleys of owning a business and not resisting it. If it was just an easy breezy journey it wouldn’t be worth it.
I have also learned that going through hardship is actually beneficial. It creates thick skin and it gives you experience and perspective on your business and life.
Any advice to women out there?
Being a female founder is an ADVANTAGE! It does not hold you back. Women love supporting women. Women are insanely intuitive. Women are creative. Women are tough. Use your female powers to your advantage. I have only seen it help my business. If you subscribe to the mindset that “being a female founder is hard”…then it will be. It’s all about your mindset.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I would love to be in more retail stores like Sephora, Mecca and Nordstrom! I see our brand continuing to expand our product line and serving our customers with more wellness products.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
Good to Great – totally changed my thought process in my business.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Greece with my husband! It’s my dream vacation!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Gary Vee actually! I love everything he is all about and agree with his overall mindset. A coffee date with this guy would be incredible.
What do you do in your free time?
I love reading a book by the pool when I’m in Florida. When I’m in Portland you’ll find me hiking around!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Avocado everything lol!
And your favorite cheat food?
Ice cream 🙂
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
Waking up with no alarm, working out, coming home to do laundry and watching some of my favorite tv shows while snuggling my husband. I’m kind of a grandma. 🙂
What music do you like?
I love so many different kinds! Rap, hip hop, EDM, Indie, Alternative..I love it all.
What do you like to watch on Tv?
Right now I’m obsessed with Outlander…yes, I’m that girl that loves romance!
Do you support any charities?
Yes, we donate every year to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation in Florida.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think it’s an incredible way to reach people with your message across the world. I find it so powerful to be able to find and talk to people that need our Teami products across the world!
