Describe yourself in 3 words?
Workaholic, positive, and optimistic.
Who is your role model?
My role model is my grandmother. She is an absolute inspiration to me.
How did you get started in the business?
I got started by filming creative face-painting videos, and then I transitioned to videos where I talk and communicate with my audience. That’s what really put me on the map in the beauty industry.
Where or when did you find the love for this?
It’s something that happened spontaneously. I didn’t force influencing to be my job. It definitely happened by itself. I started filming videos and I enjoyed it very much. The response and communication I got from people quickly became an absolute joy for me to film every day and for this to be my job.
How many hours you dedicate to this. From ideas, recording, editing, etc?
For content creators, it’s really hard to determine how many hours we work a day or a week because something that someone would consider procrastination for us would be working. We are trying to get inspired or looking for ideas for filming our own content. I would say that most of my day I dedicate to working, whether it’s getting inspired or filming. For filming and editing, on average, it takes up around five or six hours a day. If we are counting inspiration, then basically, I do not have time off!
Now tell us about the huge TikTok/IG/YouTube success, and what are you doing to keep it going and growing even more?
I think that most of my TikTok success was definitely happening in 2021 to 2022 and that’s when I grinded the most. I didn’t sleep, and I filmed all day and night to build out my platform. That wasn’t even the hardest part of the process because I really enjoyed it and still enjoy it to this day. The hardest part is maintaining your presence within the community and keeping things interesting for your audience. It has been a process of learning how to continue working this job and maintaining [my] own mental health.
What do you think is the secret to have a successful TikTok/IG account?
The secret to being successful on social media, in general, is to really find your niche. That’s something that a lot of people struggle with, even if they are making quality content. You have to stand out from everyone else. You have to be really raw on camera, and you have to be willing to put your own personality out there. If you’re trying to be like someone else or pretending to be something you’re not, people are going to see through that. It’s very hard to be successful that way in the long term. So long-term, I would say to absolutely be yourself. If it’s meant to be it will be.
Can you mention some of the brands you have worked with and if there is any brand or project in your bucket list?
I definitely enjoyed working with all of the brands I have worked with in the past. I had pleasant experiences, which makes me really happy. I have worked with brands from L’Oreal to Milk Makeup, Sheglam, Kosas Cosmetics, the Inkey List. I have worked with Natasha Denona. I absolutely love Natasha Denona. I loved working with NYX Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Nova Beauty. On my bucket list would be Dior Beauty, because I am a big fan of Dior makeup. I use it every day.
As a popular influencer and content creator you are followed by so many people. How do you feel about that pressure of doing always the right thing, and encourage people to follow their dreams?
I think there is a lot of pressure on content creators in general to always be ready for everything, always have the perfect response, and have the right advice for everyone.
Honestly, there’s a lot of pressure for you to give people advice and tell them what to do in life and they view you as their digital friend. I absolutely am that to everyone who follows me or supports me on any social media. I think that’s a pressure that personally I can handle and am enjoying, but it’s not for everyone.
Can you share a few beauty trends for the fall/winter?
I think that this year the beauty trends are coming in a little bit slower, especially for winter and the colder days. I haven’t seen that many pop up as they usually do at this time of year, so I’m really looking forward to seeing something new for this year. I think that we’re going to be moving in the same direction as last year: blushy cheeks, cold-girl make-up, and something that is still super natural and accentuating natural beauty.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part of my work is meeting anyone who follows me or watches my content. Whenever I meet someone who is an avid watcher of my content, it always makes every second of working and overworking worth it. It is a special feeling, and I really wish that everyone could feel that. It’s super rewarding.
How would you explain your fashion style?
Personally, I have the most confusing fashion style ever and it’s something that has affected my work. As an influencer, you do have to have your own fashion niche. What kind of vibe do you want to show on your account. I would say that my fashion sense is dark, old money meets cyber, futuristic. It’s a little bit messy.
What’s next for Mirta Miller in the last months of 2023 and for 2024?
In 2024, I’m really looking forward to pursuing my YouTube channel more and filming long-form content. That’s something I’ve been planning for years, and it’s finally going to happen. I can’t wait.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years?
I see myself pursuing a lot of different things in the business world, and a lot more things in the makeup world. In five years, I would like to establish my brand and have my own product line, whether that is beauty products, hair products, or makeup products.
