Hi Kleøpatra, please tell us a little about you?
I’m 27 and originally from Southern California but currently reside in Salt Lake City, Utah. I’m a University of Utah dropout and have been making music for over 6 years now.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Dedicated, caring, and adventurous.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
Out of highschool I became friends with some people in the industry who always invited me to their events and then one day it just hit me that this is what I’m meant to do in life…and the rest is history.
How has this changed your life?
I’ve played in cities that I’ve never been to and I’ve made some of the coolest friends while on the road. Getting to perform, and helping people create memories is the best feeling in the world.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Aggressive, energetic, and moody
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
Zeds Dead is my biggest influence! They were the very first EDM artists that I listened to and also the very first show I attended.
Do you play any instruments?
When I was younger I played piano, guitar, clarinet and violin.
Do you ever get nervous?
Occasionally. I’ve found the more that I think about the face I’m about to play, the more nervous I become.
Tell us about your single “Drop The Top?”
It’s actually the first house song I have ever made! I made it in less than a day.
What’s the story behind the song?
I usually make dubstep, but I wanted to make something different, and being that I love house music, I decided to make a G/Bass House track.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Getting to spread love, helping people connect, creating memories, and meeting the fans!
What book should every entrepreneur read?
The War Of Art by Steven Pressfield
What would say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
That consistency is absolutely key! You can make great music but if you are not consistent, it won’t take you very far.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
That no dream is too big and to never give up.
How would your best friend describe you?
She says I’m motivated, spunky, compassionate and intelligent.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
‘How To Pull Your Mind Out Of The Gutter’. I would name it this because several years ago I went through a series of unfortunate events that turned into a mental health struggle. I learned how to not let that get the best of me and face my demons head on.
What’s next for Kleøpatra in the last months of 2022 and for 2023?
I’ve got a few collabs underwraps, and I’ll be releasing another track here very soon!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Acai bowls are my go to.
And your favorite cheat food?
Pasta or enchiladas
How would you explain your fashion style?
It’s a combination of street style mixed with punk/ goth.
What is your own definition of happiness?
My definition is doing what you are most passionate about and being who you truly are without worrying about judgment. You are your number one priority so making yourself happy and staying away from negativity is key.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Shaq. I used to watch him play basketball growing up and now watching him DJ is legendary, as well as the fact he seems to always be giving back to his community. I admire that.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Ibiza and i would bring all my friends.
Best advice ever given?
Don’t be afraid to show people your art and be consistent.
Do you support any charity?
I highly support any charity that has to do with suicide awareness, victims of abuse, and cancer.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I see myself touring internationally.
Favorite song? Why?
My favorite song at the moment is ‘On Air’ by What So Not and Louis The Child because I love the story it tells and the overall vibe of the song is immaculate.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think it’s a great way to help get your art out there.
