Hi Nolan, please tell us a little about you?
Hi. I’m 9 years old. I like reading books, building Lego sets and playing Nintendo video games. I have a sister named Zoë and she just turned 5 years old.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Nice. Creative. Imaginative.
How did you get started in acting?
I started going to acting classes. My dad helped me find an agent and then I went on some auditions.
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
The best part is getting to see new places and meet new people. The worst part is being away from home for a long time.
Tell us about your work in Lionsgate’s “Adverse?”
It was cool that I got to be in one of my dad’s movies. I also liked working with Brian A. Metcalf.
And now about your work in M. Night Shyamalan’s Universal thriller “Old?”
M. Night was so nice, and I enjoyed working with him. I even got to work with his daughter Ishana, who was the 2nd Unit Director.
How do you prepare for a role?
I practice the dialogue until I memorize the lines. Then, I think about what happened right before the scene I’m doing. I also choose what my character wants.
What other projects you have been part of?
I was in “New Girl” as Zoey Deschanel and Jake Johnson’s son in the show finale.
How would your best friend describe you?
Nice and helpful.
What’s next for Nolan River in 2021?
I’m working on a children’s music project called “The Robot Kid” with my dad and my sister. I think that parents will like it too.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Shigeru Miyamoto because he created my 2 favorite Nintendo video games. Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda.
Favorite song? Why?
The Beatles – “We can work it out” because I really like the Beatles.
