I’m an artist passionate about music. I’m from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I love music and art. My dream is to continue creating material that will inspire the people in my life.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Creative. Passionate. Caring.
When was it that you first realized that you wanted to pursue music as a career? How did you get started in the business?
Right before high school. I started taking piano and voice lessons. I was enamored with classical music. From a young age I knew I would pursue music as a career path. I got started in the business by meeting with producers and songwriters. I developed relationships and received encouragement to continue in the music business. I also performed in venues were there were established musicians which helped start my career.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”21331″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]What is your musical background? Is your family musical?
Yes. There are musicians in my family although, growing up, I was the musician in my household. My mom studied and taught dance. I think I inherited the love for dance from her.
What kind of music do you listen normally? Which artists are your favorite?
I listen to classical, reggaeton, many latin genres, soul, folk and rock. Tchaikovsky is one of my favourite composers. I love flamenco and artists like Mariah Carey, Sade and Luis Miguel. It’s one of my dreams to collaborate with Draco Rosa.
Tell us about your single “Olé”. What’s it about? What was the songwriting process like for the track?
Olé is about the love between a young woman and a king. Their bond is special. It’s entirely about their love and friendship. It is the story of a king who loves the world and the young woman who is in love with him. They want their love to last forever.
The writing process for Olé began on a car ride. I fell asleep slightly and started singing the chorus. The last day of recording for the EP, the producer and I committed to recording Olé. The verses were written the same day. I wanted Olé to surprise me and to be unique in songwriting style.
Explain your sound in 3 words?
Pop. Eclectic. Tropical.
What is your next goal as a musician?
To collaborate with other pop and international musicians. I want to perform with artists whose sound will come together with new material we create. I would like to tour and perform live a lot more.
What are the five things you can’t live without?
Art, nature, photography, filmmaking and story telling.
Do you have any loves other than music? What are they?
Aside from the above, I also like making jewelry!
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
To “just do it”. It’s direct and straight to the point. In reality I have been given beautiful advice through the years. We should all just pursue what we are passionate about. And it. We are born with a purpose, therefore see to it that it is made a priority.
Do you get nervous before performances? What do you do to calm your nerves?
I take a deep breath in and let go, then I focus on love. Truly. It’s what sustains me.
Do you have any advice for aspiring singers?
Take time to study your instrument. The voice is so beautiful; delicate, yet powerful. Keep participating in what brings you and those around you joy.
If you weren’t singing, what would you be doing?
I would dance full time!
What’s your idea of a perfect Sunday?
Have breakfast at a local café or at the beach. Go to church. Spend time in the city. Go to dance class. Movie night!
