Check our interview with “Mother’s Day” young star on the rise actress, Jessi Case, whose dry humor and elegance on-screen has undoubtedly dubbed her “one to watch.”
Jessi starred in her first feature film, “The Yellow Wallpaper,” in 2012, and will be returning to a theater near you in Garry Marshall’s upcoming film “Mother’s Day,” starring alongside on-screen dad, Jason Sudeikis. A classic Garry Marshall holiday mashup, “Mother’s Day” tells the intersecting stories of multiple mothers. Jessi portrays Rachell Barton, a wise-beyond-her-years 16 year old who is having to takes on the role of ‘mom’ following her mother’s passing. With the burden of motherhood on her teenage shoulders, Rachell is forced to teach her father (Sudeikis) how to be Mr. Mom, in the hopes of returning to life as a normal, angsty teen.

Hi Jessi, please tell us a little about you!

Describe yourself in 3 words?
Spunky, Kind, Witty.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
Originally I was a self-proclaimed actress, singer, dancer: all of the above. I would put on plays, recitals and concerts for my family. I got into the film industry because my brother was an actor. I would tag along on his auditions and I saw how happy acting made him and how passionate about it he was. We would run lines often and after a while I found myself falling in love with everything that is in acting. My agent, Joy Pervis, has been with me for years and she has been a HUGE influence in my career and never stopped believing in me. I’ve known her since I was in a stroller!

First things first, I wake up around 7am (depending on the time zone). Then I typically take a nap immediately after haha. I’m kidding! Then I hop out of bed, eat some breakfast, and read a few chapters of a novel. Next, I do homework and go to school for a few hours. Oftentimes, I’ll be studying scripts, writing, going to the beach or I’ll hike during the day with friends. I typically end my night with a bang by watching Netflix and eating pasta.
