The year’s hottest musical collaboration, “Bang Bang” from Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj, has officially claimed the #1 spot on the Medibase Top 40 Chart.
Officially released on July 29th, the smash single immediately skyrocketed to the #1 spot on the iTunes Overall Top Songs chart and has spent the 13 weeks since its release in the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100.
Showcasing their star power in the UK, the track debuted #1 and has spent 6 consecutive weeks in the Top 5. Around the rest of the globe the single reached #1 on iTunes in more than 55 countries and Top 5 in 95 countries. Further sales stats show that the track has reached double platinum status in Australia and Holland, platinum status in the Unites States, Canada and New Zealand and Gold status in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Italy, and Mexico. In a display of the new era of music, the track has also reached 100 million streams worldwide with 92 million coming on Spotify alone.
The track’s acclaimed music video enjoyed its world premiere during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards where the three ladies also delivered the explosive first-ever live performance of the song. The video was recently “VEVO Certified” having amassed over 100 million views. Produced by Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, and Ilya, the anthem successfully brought together three of modern music’s biggest icons for a musical event that has spanned genres and generations.
