[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”25041″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Our interview with gorgeous actress Katherine Bailess who is bringing back the heat returning to her lead role as the sexy, funny, comedic seductive and Southern spitfire ‘Kyle Hart,’ on the TV Series “Hit the Floor” which returns after a two-year hiatus for a highly-anticipated season 4 on Tuesday, July 10th on BET.
‘Hit the Floor’ premiered in 2013 on VH1 as the #1 new cable scripted series and became a social media phenomenon overnight as one of the top Tweeted television shows. The hit drama series explores the fame, money, power and sex in professional basketball through the eyes of the fictional LA Devil Girls dancers and the LA Devils basketball team. Bailess stars as ‘Kyle Hart’ a stripper turned cheerleader who uses her smart wit and sexual prowess to get what she wants. The new season which airs on a new network, will feature familiar faces as well as new dancers (Teyana Taylor of Kanye West’s FADE fame is one) & basketball players fight to stake their claim under the red-hot spotlight of the LA Devils nation.
Bailess also stars in the comedy Web Series that has gone viral through YouTube, entitled “Sh%t Southern Women Say” and is the true definition of a triple threat.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”25040″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Describe yourself in 3 words?
Southern, kind, and loud!
Who is your biggest supporter?
My parents.
How did you get started in the industry?
I moved to NYC for college, dance and Broadway. That led to theatre, soaps, and now TV and Film. And yes, I am still dancing on TV! God bless my joints!
What was your first acting role?
It depends on what you are talking about. I was on a few episodes of the Soap ‘One Life to Live’ but my first big job was ‘Bring It on Again.’ I had just moved to LA and it was my very first audition.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
The best is that we get to create and play at work. The ultimate satisfaction is when we make our audiences feel all the feelings and take them on a journey. The worst is getting up at the crack of dawn! I know… “champagne problems.” Lol
Best advice ever given?
It’s ‘Show Business’ not ‘Show Friendship.’
Tell us about the hit TV Series “Hit the Floor?”
‘Hit the Floor’ is a sexy drama that revolves around the lives and loves of the Los Angeles Devils Professional Basketball Team and the Devil Girl Dancers. Every episode is filled with dance, sex, drama, comedy and of course a cliff hanger!
And about your role as Kyle Hart?
I like to call her “Southern Fried Sex on Legs.” She is a stripper turned Los Angeles Devil Girl Dancer. She is willing to do ANYTHING to get ahead in life and uses her Southern Sass to get whatever she wants.
What’s new after the two-year hiatus?
We have a lot of new characters that are going to bring some very exciting storylines and some spicy flavor.
What we can expect for the fourth season?
Fourth season in one word is ‘Sexylicious’ (did I just make up a word?) The story and the dances are on another level.
What has been your most memorable experience from the set so far?
I think it had to be when we danced on top of a pool in the water. We had a blast and it was probably a fan favorite!
Now tell us about your Lifetime thriller feature film DEADLY MATRIMONY?
My character Sara thinks she has married the perfect guy until she figures out he is a conman and a murderer to multiple wives. These women then try and bring him down. It will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat!
What other projects have you been part of?
I am a part of the ‘Southern Women Channel’ on YouTube. Check out our ‘Sh%t Southern Women Say’ Videos Y’all! You’re going to grin like a possum eating’ sweet taters.
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
Lucille Ball because she is the queen of Comedy and I would love to play her someday.
3 things you can’t leave your house without?
Cell phone, lipstick and sunscreen.
What music do you like?
Country all day everyday!
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
A hike and then brunch with friends.
How’s a normal day in your life?
I’m an actress there is no such thing!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Egg white omelet with spinach and mushrooms.
And your favorite cheat food?
Chicken tenders and sweet potato fries.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully married with kids and still working in the industry.
Do you support any charities?
I have always supported the MS Society. One of our dancers on the show was diagnosed when we first began filming. Through her we have made other young dancers aware of this mean disease and how you can fight it.
