Florida native Ronni Hawk landed her first-ever acting role on Disney Channel’s newest sitcom “Stuck in the Middle.” The family comedy premiered its first season in February 2016. Opposite a talented cast, Ronni plays the pretty, yet self-absorbed Rachel; the eldest of the Diaz’s seven children.
In light of her newfound success, Ronni, who has considered herself an environmentalist since a very young age, is eager to use her position in the public eye to give back to those in need. Influenced by her father’s philanthropic work providing dental services and basic needs to communities in third world countries, Ronni has recently partnered with Thirst Project to raise funds and awareness surrounding the worldwide water crisis. With the launch of her campaign, Ronni will call on her fans to join her in raising money to fund projects building wells in communities where water is scarce.

Hi Ronni please tell us about you?
I am one of five children, so I understand all the craziness a big family can have. I’m from Delray Beach Florida. When I was younger I thought I wanted to be a criminal defense lawyer. Oh, how that plan changed when I fell in love with acting. I love to hike, swim, ride roller coasters and snorkel.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Chill, Creative and Daring.
When and how did you get your started in acting?
When I was 12 I started modeling in south Florida and doing commercials. I heard about an acting workshop and asked my mom if I could attend. Two coaches from Los Angeles hosted the workshop and they encouraged me to go to LA. My mom set up meetings with agents and managers and we flew out there. I signed with The Osbrink Agency and Monster Talent Management. I found my purpose and feel I’m doing what I’m meant to do.

How do you prepare for a role?
I first read the whole script, and then I read all the breakdowns for each character. After completing those two things I then have a feel for who the character is and begin to establish the relationship with the other characters.
What was your first role, and which one has been your favorite?
Stuck in the Middle is my first theatrical booking. I absolutely love getting to play Rachel.
Tell us about Disney’s channel “Stuck in the Middle”? And when we can watch it?
Stuck in the Middle is about a family of 9 who each have their own unique, crazy fun personalities. With so many different personalities it makes getting through the day quite hectic and creates a lot of obstacles. It really shows how a large family can be chaotic yet still really bond and love each other.
You can watch our show Friday nights on Disney Channel at 8:30 ET/PT
How did you get selected for the show?
It was a stressful couple of weeks, I went to my initial audition the beginning of Feb. 2015, and on the car ride home I received a call saying I was going to producers the next day. I went onto testing for the role 2 weeks later and finally found out I booked the role two weeks after that. What a crazy, stressful time. All worth the wait!!

What is your character about?
My character Rachel is the oldest of seven kids and since she is the oldest she believes she deserves all the attention. Rachel tends to be a bit of a diva, but she is creative and lovable side.
If you could choose, what three actors would you really want to work with?
If I could work with any three actors I would love to work with Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Cillian Murphy.
Any exciting news you want to share with us?
At this time I do not, I just flew back home to South Florida to enjoy some hiatus time with my family. I haven’t been home since December. It’s going to be nice to soak in the sun and relax. In a few weeks we are going on our annual family camping, boating, snorkeling trip to the Florida Keys. It’s Fun!!!!
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
My parents and grandparents have made the biggest impact on my life. They have always supported me in new endeavors and guided me along the up’s and down’s of life.
Do you have a role model?
Matt Damon
Any advice to young upcoming talent?
Advice I would give upcoming actors is to just know there will be a lot of hard work ahead of you. You will have to learn to deal with tons of rejection but if this is a dream you want more than anything it will be worth all the hard work. Remember, dreams are things your heart makes.
What’s a normal day in your life?
A normal day for me is waking up (sometimes in the dark), getting ready for set, working all day, going home to clean up, and learning my lines for the next day.
Sometimes when I have a late call the next day I may go out with friends and go to dinner or a movie.
Do you support any charities?
When I was younger I would help my dad when he did mission dental work through our church. I even volunteered at a dog rescue by assisting in the care, clean up and helping in the adoption of the dogs. Just recently I have signed on with The Thirst Project. This organization helps bring safe clean drinking water from freshwater wells to developing nations and impoverished communities. Millions of people on our planet lack safe clean drinking water.
The Thirst Project is the world’s leading youth water activism organization. The Thirst Project has dedicated to providing the entire nation of Swaziland clean safe drinking water. Amazing!! We take for granted we can walk to the kitchen and fill a glass with safe, clean drinking water.
Best advice ever given?
The best advice I have ever been given is to stay true to who I am and never give up hope for my dreams.
Favorite song? Why?
I honestly don’t have a favorite song. I love music so much it’s just too hard to pick one song. My favorite artists are Vic Mensa, Kflay, Mr. Carmack and Lana del Ray.
Any other hobbies?
Some of my hobbies are hiking and swimming. I grew up in Florida and we swim almost every day. I also love to hike in the Georgia Mountains.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
The perfect Sunday to me would be sleeping in, going to a late lunch then having a group of friends come over and we all watch movies all day.
What career would you do if you couldn’t be an actress anymore?
If I couldn’t be an actress and had to choose a different path I would love to be an Archeologist.
How important is Social Media for you?
Social Media is important to me because I love to be able to talk to fans and show them what is happening in my life. To know I can make a difference and bring some laughter to their lives.
