What’s the first thing you do in the morning and the last thing you do at night?
The first thing its being thankful and feel blessed for what I have, I love to get amazed like a 5 old years girl and see the miracles of the life, In my mind I repeat to myself I can do it,( even when I still have awake and half sleepy) and just right after this, I open my eyes get up, have either coffee or a quick green juice and I’ll go to workout, and then I am ready for start my day. And the last thing , I take a shower I put perfume and some chocolate oil and I go to the bed having the sensation that at least I did something which will take me where I want it to be .. So I get in my mind the idea that tomorrow I’ll do a little more than today
How did you get started in modeling?
I am from Colombia (to be precise from the Colombian Coast a little town called Sincelejo), I always dream big (over there they requires me as queen of beauty, former as miss Colombia but I at the end the committee of beauty in my hometown told me that I didn’t represent the typical beauty – cause I was too skinny my features wasn’t as the typical girl -, so I knew from always that I didn’t want to compete for a crown I wanted to work, being In photoshoots and video shoots , being the face and body of campaigns, being in the magazines, in covers, etc. When I moved to Bogota to go to the university I get scout for the first time for a very important Italian photographer Aldo Bressi R.I.P. who used to live in Argentina and was in Bogota for an event of one of his schools of photography, and I was invited to that event and he was the first who discover me and told me I have a carrier in front of my eyes, that day he did a nice photoshoot with m . Then I start to work in agencies in Colombia, My first job and actually photo shoot was the branding campaign for Colgate plus whitening for Latin America. After that having a double life going to the law university ( having my swimwear and heels ready for casting and reading tons of law books) I had a weird feeling cause even working for a lot of the most important brands, magazines and designer, I knew that my future wasn’t there (cause in my country which I love in a way that you have no idea, and I have to say that I feel so proud being Colombiana I never felt appreciate as an artist) , so one day before I went to live to New York to improve my English in a language school after I get my bachelor degree ,I met a really good friend who is a super talented designer Juan Pablo Socarras he encourage me and told me that I have to keep it up.
When I went to live to NYC I have to be honest and admit that I still having the flame on my dream but I wants expecting becoming an international model, Cause I wasn’t the tallest or the skinniest I mean I am still being Latina. The point was that I have to admit that I didn’t expect it, but one way after class I was walking on the 5 street in Chelsea and an Italian designer scout me and ask me to be her model for his look book and then after I go there and had this awesome photoshoot the adventure began.
How has modeling changed your life?
In every aspect that you can imagine, in special making my more awake of my flaws, wanted me to inspire people, inspire girls, modeling has taking my to places that I dreamed about, took me to get more into spirituality and the deep part cause even when I can’t lie about that I work with my appearance I learn that the very important strength come from inside. And I had learned that you first have to dream it, then you have to put your whole heart on it, work hard and keep it up , stand if you fell, but keep it.
